About StatUp

Built by surgeons, for surgeons.

Let's be honest: too much of the surgical literature is peppered with bad statistics. P-hacking, underpowered studies, misinterpreted confidence intervals, and conclusions that don't match the data. (We've all nodded along in journal club pretending we understood the methods section.)

StatUp was created to teach physicians the basic statistics they actually need to critically evaluate the studies they read and stop getting fooled by impressive-sounding nonsense.

If you're a new clinical researcher, our lessons and tools can help you plan better studies. You'll learn to ask the right questions about your data before you collect it, choose appropriate analyses, and interpret your results honestly.

⚠️ Real Talk

We strongly recommend consulting with an actual statistician before doing any real research. We're a learning tool, not a replacement for expertise.

Take full responsibility for any practice changes or clinical decisions you make based on the literature. PubMed is full of garbage stats, and we're just a random web app dreaming of the day we become an iOS app.

StatUp is a work in progress. We're adding new modules, improving existing lessons, and building tools to make statistics less painful. If something's broken, confusing, or just plain wrong, we want to know.
